200,000 Heads Are Better Than One
Like so many organizations, one of the world’s largest shipping and logistics enterprises is seeking new ways to reduce its carbon footprint. To power this green initiative they are turning to Spaces by nGenera.
Why? The answer’s simple – this company recognizes the fact that it doesn’t matter where a good idea comes from. They want to leverage the collective brain power of their 200,000+ employees world wide, allowing them to collaborate easily in order to share ideas and knowledge and speed up the feedback loop so more good ideas get discovered faster.
Spaces by nGenera is extremely flexible, and adapts quickly to any organization's or group’s collaborative style. This organization is deploying Spaces to their entire employee population, using both computers and mobile devices to enable new approaches to idea generation and knowledge sharing.
This global Fortune 100 company’s Spaces initiative has three main elements:
- Jams
These are moderated brainstorming sessions in which large numbers of employees participate online, over a relatively short period of time.
- Ideagoras
Ideagoras is a process in which ideas are generated by individuals or groups, and then vetted and improved upon through a submission and voting process.
- Community Conversations
This is the least formal of the three approaches. Spaces by nGenera creates the kind of informal spaces in which people can easily collaborate in an ad hoc fashion.
The company has made excellent use of the flexibility of Spaces to easily modify the program to address different cultures. Because it also doesn’t matter what language a good idea is expressed in.
